AutoPlanet Renault Steps Up To The Oche For Darts Tournament

At AutoPlanet Renault Southampton we're proud to be throwing our weight behind next year’s Hampshire Darts Open by becoming the main sponsors of the annual tournament.

The event will now be called the AutoPlanet Renault Hampshire Darts Open after we decided to lend our support to the championship which takes place on May, 29th 2011 at the Novotel Hotel in Southampton.

More than 500 of the country’s top players are expected to take part in 2011 competing for a prize fund of around £2,500. Hampshire’s Aaron Monk picked up the title this year taking the honours away from Basingstoke darts marksman Colin Monk who is a three-time winner.

The day-long event is organised by the Hampshire County Darts Organisation and spokesman Frank Branscombe said: “Since the first event back in 2000, the tournament has gone from strength to strength attracting players of pub and club standard right through to players more accustomed to playing in front of television cameras. We’re delighted to receive the backing of such a major local company and we’re already anticipating a record number of entries when registrations open early next year.”
